Chair of the Salihorsk District Executive Committee, banned the pickets For Stability, For Our President and Against
Picket Bans which a democratic activist Uladzimir Shyla wanted to hold in
the only place where such actions are allowed by the local authorities – the Budaunik stadium on 15-16 April.
The official reason is “reconstruction of the stadium”. Strangely enough, the “reconstruction”
doesn’t hinder holding football matches there (the last one took place on 10
April). The activist is also convinced that even the stadium will be really
reconstructed at the time the authorities were to propose another place for the
action.
