Vitsebsk Chyhunachny District Court found local opposition activist Siarhei Kavalenka guilty of staging an unauthorized picket and disorderly conduct, and sentenced him to 7 days of administrative arrest.
Judge Alena Tsyhankova convicted Mr. Kavalenka for carrying a white-red-white flag along Vitsebsk Lenin Street and crying out anti-Lukashenka slogans on 24 March. When the police appeared, he reportedly slapped the top of the police car.
