More accused and suspects in criminal case concerning 19 December ‘mass riot’
Fiodar Mirzayanau, a third year student of Belarusian State Economic University, has become the 38th accused in the mass riot criminal case. He was presented charges on 1 February.
Fiodar was summoned to the KGB office for an
interrogation as a witness in the framework of the mass riot case for 26 January,
but KGB officers arrived to his house on 25 January and guarded him to the
investigation administration at Sapiorau
Street in Minsk
for an interrogation. Fiodar was detained for 3 days as a suspect in the crime
upon the interrogation results. He spent 3 days in the pre-trial detention
center in Akrestsin Street.
Before this, Mirzayanau had served 15 days of administrative detention in
Zhodzina for participation in the protest action in Minsk. The youngster is not a member of any
party or democratic youth organization.
On 2 February a Minsk
resident Dzianis Shydlouski was detained for 3 days as a suspect in the criminal
case under Article 293, parts 1 and 2 of the Criminal Code.
According to preliminary information, the suspicions of the security services
are grounded on analysis of the video materials of the dispersal of the protest
action in Nezalezhnastsi Street.
Before this Dzianis Shydlouski had served a 10-day arrest as well.
