The United Nations Committee on Human Rights has registered and taken into consideration the claim on violation of the freedom of associations in Belarus. A human rights activist Aleh Volchak has informed this, reports BelaPAN.

According to him, it was a claim about deprivation of the human rights civil organization "Legal help for population" from registration . This claim was filed by Aleh Volchak himself and by the lawyer Raisa Mikhailouskaya. The ex-leaders of the "Legal help for population" claimed there had been violation of the freedom of associations when the organization had been liquidated in 2003.

"I know that the UN Committee on Human Rights has already taken  decisions with regard to violation of the freedom of associations in Belarus.  However, I also know it is a very long-lasting procedure, so I think this claim will be considered in about two years
", — Volchak said.

The human rights organization "Legal help for population" is registered as an international association in Ukraine.
