There won’t
be any representatives of any political parties in the 55 precinct election
commissions (PECs)
of the Pruzhany district. The bulk of the candidates for the commissions were nominated
by collection of signatures of electors, representatives of collectives of
institutions and enterprises and by NGOs.
However, there is one peculiarity: the majority of the NGO nominees in the
Pruzhany district represent Red Cross, while in other districts of the Brest region they belong
to such pro-governmental NGOs as Belaya
Rus, the Belarusian Republican Youth Union, the Belarusian Union of Women
and the Union of Veterans.
