Mahiliou authorities view observation as interference with election commission’s work

According to Mahiliou observer Barys Bukhel, who tried to attend the meetings of the city’s Kastrychnitskaya election commission on 11 and 15 October, his visits were considered as interference with the commission’s activities by its chair, as can be seen from an official reply, received by the observer.

Barys Bukhel previously lodged a complaint with the commission, arguing that its activities are extremely bureaucratic and complicated. However, the commission dismissed the observer’s allegations, saying that its activities are governed by instructions of the Central Election Commission.
