On 7 April, Aleh Huseu, a provost of Belarusian National Technical University, called student Uladzimir Dziaviatka, a candidate to the Minsk city council in the Bahdanovichskaya constituency, for a conversation. He asked Dziaviatka about running in the local council elections, mfront.net reports.
'I had the impression that Mr Huseu was prepared for a conversation, it looked as if he had learnt yesterday that I run in the elections. He noted I had little experience in communication. According to him, I act against the faculty, because another person represents the university at the elections, so I compete with him,' Uladzimir Dziaviatka says.
It's noteworthy that independent candidates to local council feel pressure in all Belarusian regions.Human Rights Defenders for Free Elections
