Leanid Padbiaretski, pretender to candidate, is still waiting for the permission of the administration of Mahiliou State University to collect signatures at student dormitory.

On 4 March in the morning he phoned to the rector’s office. The university lawyer answered that the application was being considered and the answer would be given in two weeks, i.e. after the end of the period when signatures can be collected. Mr. Padbiaretski explained that he couldn’t wait so long as the elections were going on, after which the lawyer told him to phone tomorrow.

Bear in mind that on 1 March Mr. Padbiaretski wasn’t let in dormitory #1 of the Mahiliou State University to collect signatures. Volha Dzedavets, the dormitory supervisor, said that Padbiaretski needed the agreement of Uladzimir Yaseu, the university provost on education. On 2 March he met with the provost, who recommended writing an application to Rector Bandarenka. Leanid Padbiaretski did it, but still hasn’t received an answer.
