'Young Front' activists are fined for action in front of presidential administration

Five activists of the Young Front were detained for an unauthorized picket. They were standing with a streamer ‘No to political terror!’ in front of the administration of Lukashenka.

Policemen drew up reports against Vadzim Khaniauka, Mikalai Dzemidzenka and Yuliya Mikhailava for participation in the unsanctioned picket. They were taken to the prison in Akrestsin Street. Dzemidzenka and Khaniauka complained about poor conditions in prison.

The underage activists Yaraslau Lyskavets and Bahuslau Raviakou were released after their parents came. Administrative reports against them are to be studies by commissions in district executive committees in the districts where they live.

Vadzim Khaniauka, Mikalai Dzemidzenka and Yuliya Mikhailava have been fined more than $1200 for yesterday protest rally near the presidential administration building.

The administrative trials against the youth activists who unfurled streamers ‘No to political terror!’ in front of the presidential administration yesterday, were held in the court of Leninski district of Minsk.

The young people were taken to the court personally by the head of Leninski police department. Other Young Front members and other activists gathered to support them.

The total sum of the fines to which the young activists have been sentenced is 3.5 mln rubles; Vadzim Khaniauka to (875 000 Br), Mikalai Dzemidzenka to (1 575 000 Br) abd Yuliya Mikhailava to (1 050 000 Br). They have been found guilty of organizing an unsanctioned event.
