In Svetlahorsk domestic election observers concluded that the parliamentary elections in Svetlahorsk election constituency were not free and democratic. There were no representatives of different political forces in the precinct election commissions and the observers were deprived of the opportunity to monitor the counting of votes. Some significant law violations were registered as well. The observers state that all these facts give sufficient grounds for doubts in the officially declared results of the elections.

In Svetlahorsk election constituency none of 28 representatives of democratic forces were included in precinct election commissions. The observers also speak about unequal conditions for the candidates.

In particular, during the agitation period the posters of a democratic candidate Siarhei Daineka were destroyed all the time, especially near the check-points of workers’ plants. On the contrary, the posters of the pro-governmental candidate Valiantsina Kavaliova were posted in all convenient places. At Skarynauski polling station the ballot box for early voting was kept in a room that was not sealed during the nights. At Miadkouski precinct the electoral commission carried the ballot boxes and ballots on the territory of the precinct, though according to the electoral legislation such actions are only possible in the case electors express the wish to vote at home.
