On 30 September the police detained Sviatlana Mikhalchanka and Volha Yankouskaya. In the evening the police also searched their apartments. The reason for these actions was that the detainees were participants of actions against the upcoming repeal of social benefits.

Bear in mind that on 30 September within the frames of the Social March countrywide action the local activists of Salihorsk were to have collected signatures against the repeal of the benefits. However, the local authorities did not authorize the applications for holding 11 pickets on 30 September. Then the activists decided to distribute information about the social benefits.

Mikhalchanka and Yankouskaya came to Maladziozhny market. The latter handed out leaflets. They were detained by a KGB worker Shahinau. Then a policeman Piatrushka arrived. The women were taken to the police station. The police confiscated the leaflets and then searched their apartments. The same day they confiscated from Siarhei Daineka two copies of the latest issue of Tovarishch newspaper, other printed editions, CDs and a notebook.

The three activists decided to appeal these actions which were illegal and violated their constitutional rights.
