On 9 June the political prisoner Artur Finkevich was allowed to spend less than two hours out of the commandant’s headquarters. Yesterday Major Uladzimir Mikhailau allowed Artur to leave the guarded territory for an 1,5 hours. Protesting against the arbitrary behavior of the authorities the political prisoner refused such ‘mercy’.
According to Artur Finkevich, previously the authorities either didn’t allow him to leave the guarded territory or released him for the whole day. Two hours are not enough for him to go to the sauna for washing, to the barber’s and to relax. The untidy outlook of the prisoner may become the reason for punishment. The shower at the commandant’s headquarters is out of order.
On Friday the acting head of the commandant’s headquarters Siarhei Kuskou limited the time for visiting the political prisoner. On 4 June Artur Finkevich was refused early release.
