Homel Activists Collect Signatures against Abolishment of Benefits
Homel activists began an action of collecting signatures against the bill to abolish benefits to the disabled, liquidators of the consequences of Chernobyl disaster, students, and other categories of population. The bill is to be soon considered by the Chamber of Representatives. The parliament members are to vote on the bill during this session already. During one hour youth activists Zmitser Zhaleznichenka and Siarzhuk Haurylin collected about 70 signatures. The young people say, about 90% of passers-by agreed to put their signatures under the petition. The people who refused to sign up, explained that in their opinion the action was senseless and that the parliament would vote on any bill proposed by the head of the state.
The young people plan to collect several thousand signatures and send the petition to the Chamber of Representatives of the National Assembly, “Hart” reports.
