Tatsiana Seviarynets Fired from Work
Mother of the Belarusian political prisoner Paval Seviarynets was fired from work for alleged violation of work discipline.
Tatsiana Seviarynets believes she was fired from work for political reasons, Nasha Niva reports. During the winter vacations Tatsiana visited her daughter in Minsk and then went to Warsaw to visit her father’s grave and participate in a training course for teachers.
In the beginning she had received a vacation leave from her administration. However, later she received a phone call which cancelled the vacation leave.
A group of parents signed a petition in defense of a teacher with 36 years of experience. Meanwhile, the teacher plans to defend her rights through court and prosecutor’s office. Her son Paval Seviarynets, one of the founders of Young Front youth organization shut down by the authorities, is serving a 2 year term in an open-type prison for “active participation in an unsanctioned rally”.
