Primary Organization of Free Trade Union of Belarus at Polatsk-Fiberglass Stops Negotiations on Collective Agreement

Now members of the Free Trade Union of Belarus (FTUB) intend to start a labor argument with the enterprise administration. The decision to stop the negotiations was taken at a sitting of the primary organization of Free Trade Union of Belarus at Polatsk-Fiberglass. A trade union leader Viktar Stukau motivated it with the fact that the employer doesn’t make any concessions on all points of the paragraph of the collective agreement related to guarantees of the trade union activity. At the same time, members of the official trade union have the right to be freed from work for public activity, to be asked for agreement to firing of workers and to have a free office room for the trade union.

˜The sitting participants decided to finish the process of collective negotiations with minutes of discrepancies’, said V.Stukau. ˜Then we will act in conformity with the Belarusian legislation. First of all, we plan to enter a labor argument. We made such a decision using the fact that the situation of trade unions is attentively watched by the International Labor Organization now.’

We should remind that the collective negotiations between representatives of the FTUB primary unit and the enterprise administration lasted for about a year. The latter ignored all initiatives of the trade union activists.
