Hrodna Medical University Fires Professor Astrouski

Before the beginning of a conference Belarus’ issue in the context of the EU extension a well-known political activist and scientist professor Ales Astrouski applied to the reception of the rector of Hrodna Medical University for getting a two-day leave of absence. There he was told it was a mere formality. Then he left for the conference. On its second day he received a telephone call from the reception and was informed that soon the university administration would decide on his firing. Now Mr. Astrouski is preparing to sue the university.
