EU Delegation to Visit Belarus?

In the next few days a delegation of the EU on behalf of EU foreign policy Chief Javier Solana is to visit Belarus. It has been stated by a federal deputy of Belgium Jean-Paul Henry at a meeting with the chairman of the Chamber of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Uladzimir Kanapliou on 5 March in Minsk.

Jean-Paul Henry has noted that ‘he has always been trying to contribute to distribution of information on Belarus’. He has underlined that a key moment for future relations between Belarus and Europe is taking place at this stage. Thus, the delegation of the European Union is going to see in its own eyes whether the Belarusian authorities’ statements to develop relations with Europe are serious and whether the regime is really ready to start democratic reforms in the country.
