Bunt congratulates Tsimafei Dranchuk on his 25th birthday

On 5 August an activist of the civil initiative of election monitoring Partnership Tsimafei Dranchuk turned 25. The day before the court of Tsentralny borough of Minsk sentenced Tsimafei to a year of imprisonment in a minimum security colony, for violation of a political article of the Criminal Code, actions on behalf of an unregistered organization.
On Tsimafei Dranchuks birthday young activists of resistance movement Bunt carried out a rally of support. They formed a live chain with his portraits near the Trading house in Niamiha Street. The passers-by came to them and wanted to know more about the situation. We explained that it was Tsimafei Dranchuks birthday, and he has to celebrate it in prison, one of the organizers of the rally, a member of the UCP Political council and the chairman of the Young Democrats Kiryl Ihnatsik told. He was imprisoned in 25 only for his active citizenship, and because he wanted fair presidential elections in Belarus.
According to the UCP press-service, friends and relatives sent birthday postcards to Tsimafei Dranchuk and letters of support to the other three prisoners: Mikalai Astreika, Enira Branitskaia and Aliaksandr Shalaika. They wished the Partnership members grit and courage.
