In the morning of 1 August about 10 taxis stopped at the route terminal near the car spares market in the Uskhod suburb of Brest. The public activists, who called themselves support group for the hunger-strikers of Brest, gathered there. According to RFE/RL, on the eve of the action volunteers and taxi drivers distributed fly-sheets with the slogan Together We Will Win!, in which the reason for the hunger-strike of the taxi drivers of Brest was explained.

The action participants didn’t violate the schedule of the taxis, but confined themselves to a discussion of the hunger-strike and the related circumstances. A part of the action’s organizers expressed their dissent with the small number of participants (it wasn’t supported even by some of the taxi owners whom the new presidential decree concerns). The council of taxi owners thinks that such actions must continue, but be more decisive and intense.

We should remind that the hunger-strike is going on for the 28th day already.
