As editor-in-chief of the “Khimik” newspaper Siarhiej Balaj said to the press-service of BAJ, the newspaper had to stop being published. Last December “Belpost” cancelled the agreement with the newspaper and threw it out of the subscription catalogue. In February 2006 “Viciebskablsajuzdruk” refused to prolong the agreement as well, explaining that by “economic inexpediency”. As a result, the editorial board had to create its own network of newspaper delivery but the edition lost more than half of subscribers because of impossibility to conduct proper subscription campaign.
At the present moment the newspaper collective is on termless holiday but the board is looking ways out of this crisis, thinking about publishing in Internet version.
