Studying of Partnerstva Activists Case Prolonged for a Month
Studying the case of Partnerstva activists in the court of Tsentralny district of Minsk has been extended for a month. The court chairman has allowed studying the case for a moth more. As we have informed, activists of an unregistered organization Partnerstva are to be tried by Judge Leanid Yasinovich, who sentenced to three years of corrective works oppositionists Mikola Statkevich and Paval Sevyarynets last year.
Activists of Partnerstva Mikola Astrejka, Enira Branitskaya, Tsimafei Dranchuk and Alyaksandr Shalajka, who tried to organize independent observation over the elections, were arrested in February. Activists were charged with activities on behalf of an unregistered organization. In the run-up to the elections criminal responsibility had been introduced for that.
Its a pity that young people are to spend a month more in the pre-trial detention center in bad conditions, lawyer Paval Sapelka commented on the decision to extend studying the case in the court.
