Bialystok Major Ryszard Tur refused to come to Festival of National Cultures Held in Hrodna
According to the press-secretary of Ryszard Tur Tomasz Tsvikouski, taking into account the position of the Polish government to the situation in Belarus the majors participation in this action would be a retreat from the Polish foreign policy, thats why Mr Tur refused to come to Hrodna.
Such trips are also criticized by the advisor of the prime-minister on cases of Poles abroad Michal Dvorczyk: Any participation of central or local Polish authorities in the actions that are held by Lukashenkas regime is very bad. I have a negative attitude to it. The matter is that such steps legitimize the regime and I think they should be treated critically.
In addition, at the festival the Polish culture will be represented by the Union of Poles with the leadership that is not recognized by the Polish authorities, and the leaders whom the Poles consider as legitimate (including Anzhalika Borys) havent been even invited to the event.
