This was a slogan of a student’s action held on Kastrychnitskaya Square. On April 2 at 5 p.m. about 50 students gathered at Kastrychnitskaya Square. They held blue, white, and red balloons. When police officers came up to them, the students started to pierce the balloons.
They cried out: “Union state of Russia and Belarus is a hollow balloon!” There were about 50 balloons, that’s why the burst sound was quite loud. The students explained to the reporters that was the way they marked the anniversary of the union between Russia and Belarus.
While the policemen consulted with their superiors about their actions the students left the Square in small groups, reports RFE/RL.
