At the start of November the monopolist in the sphere of subscription to the periodicals in Belarus Belposhta said that it would not include the Narodnaia volia into the subscription catalog for the first half of 2006. These are notices sent out to almost all independent periodicals of Belarus. The editorial office went to the Economic Court of Minsk, requesting that Belposhta include the newspaper into the subscription catalog. However, on 15 December Minsk Economic Court discontinued the consideration of the case allegedly because this case could not be considered in an economic court.
The senior editor of the Narodnaia volia Iosif Siaredzich explained it to Radio Liberty that he is not going to calm down and the newspaper will continue to reach the readers: "We have a license to sell the newspaper in the editorial office. So he appealed to the readers: if you want to receive the January issues, transfer advanced payment and we will deliver you the newspaper".
A more detailed explanation of this system will be printed in the Narodnaia volia on 20 December.
The commercial director of the independent periodical Iauhienia Tserakhova said that over the past few months many newspaper supporters appealed to the editorial office, who said that they were willing to distribute it: “We know who we can rely on. The other thing is that now it is difficult for us to find such a system of delivering the newspapers to other regions, apart from Minsk. We simply do not have enough time to solve these issues. Maybe this will not happen every day, maybe we will be able to find a target system. Of course, we cannot even let ourselves think that the person who wants to receive the newspaper will not receive it".
The alternative system of subscription is being created by the independent Nasha Niva this month”. According to the senior editor Andrei Dynko, every day dozens of private donations arrive at the editorial office from the people who want to read the Nasha Niva.
