At 12.15 on 5 August the police detained five members of Young Front for a picket in support of the Union of Poles in Belarus, held near the Polish Embassy in Minsk. Dzmitry Dashkievich, Artur Finkievich, Nastasia Palazhanka, Dzmitry Rabchyk and Antanina Viezhaviets were taken to Minsk Partyzanski Borough Board of Internal Affairs. Most probably they will be charged with participation in unauthorized action. At the same time, members of the pro-presidential youth organization Belarusian National Youth Union (BRSM) picket the embassy for the 4th day already, expressing their support to the authorities by sawing the log of freedom between Belarus and Poland.

Representatives of Young Front also came to the embassy on 4 August and the police didn’t detain them. However, today the latter ones changed their mind, but didn’t detain any BRSM members for the picketing.

Today, on 8 August, Minsk Partyzanski Borough Court has sentenced Artur Finkievich and Dzmitry Dashkievich to 10 days of jail for unauthorized picketing.
