In the afternoon on 3 July sixteen activists of the organization “Youth Christian-social Union – Young Democrats”, youth branch of United Civil Party handed out to passers-by badges with portraits of Frantsysk Skaryna and Piatro Masherau fly-sheets with proposals to support the protest against renaming of streets ordered by Lukashenka on 7 May (he ordered to rename Skaryna and Masherau Avenues). The action took place in Surhanau Street in Minsk. Near Riga supermarket riot police ringed the action participants and led them to their bus. The UCP activist Natallia Liavonava started screaming when they tried to detain her and they pulled her into a police car. Eight detainees were driven to Minsk Savietski Borough Board of Internal Affairs. The police confiscated the fly-sheets, made them write explanations and in three hours let go.

Another action of protest was to have taken place on 3 July in the river of Svislach, but the police preventively detained its coordinators, members of Belarusian People’s Front Andrei Sukhavierkhi and Dzmitry Kazlouski.
