Participants of Chain of Concerned People in Mahiliou Are Still Tried
On 2 June the Commission on cases of minors of Mahiliou Leninski Borough Executive Committee considered the case of the under-aged pupil of school #22 of Mahiliou Hanna Pietrakovich. The chair of the commission Valiery Kliepchukou demonstrated a biased attitude to the Zubr activist. For instance, he didn’t allow her representative Barys Bukhiel to familiarize with the case materials, didn’t let him speak, didn’t listen to her witnesses and didn’t attach to the case the photos that illustrated the moment of detention. Her ruled to fine the girl’s parents 51 000 rubles for violation of Article 162 of the Code of Administrative Offences (Malicious non-execution of parental duties concerning upbringing and education). Hana Pietrakovich was warned.
At the same time, Mahiliou Leninski Borough Court with judge Panasienka at the head tried Zubr activist Valadar Tsurpanau. The judge paid no attention to the arguments of the accused and his representative Barys Bukhiel and listened only to addled testimonies of the police. V. Tsurpanau was fined 765 000 rubles for violation of Article 167-1 of the Code of Administrative Offences (participation in unauthorized action).
On 26 March the judge of Mahiliou Leninski Borough Court Siarhiei Karaliou also fined the Zubr activist Ivan Shauchenka 510 000 rubles.
