On 16 October police detained under age Makar Vawchok and college student Aleh Larychaw on Kastrychnitskaya Square. The special police officers detained the guys because they had black ribbons on their sleeves. (The idea of the flash-mob was to wear black ribbons to symbolize grief over post-referendum Belarus). The police searched the young guys and found anti-presidential leaflets in their bags. Vawchok and Larychaw were taken to Centralny police station.
On October 16 young people with black ribbons on sleeves went out to Kastrychnitskaya Square. Standing in a row, they unfolded the issue of pro-Lukashenka Sovetskaya Belorussiya newspaper and pretended they were reading carefully. The flash-mob participants wanted to remind the passers-by about the danger of referendum.
