Minsk city Office of Prosecutor instituted a legal proceeding based on the fact of the press-conference about falsifications during voting

Radio Liberty informed about that. On October 14 leaders of opposition demonstrated to the journalists projects of protocols of electoral commissions with ready figures with summary tables about distribution of voices at the districts.

The copies of the prepared protocols and tables also got to an activist of the initiative “In favour of free elections”, Anatol Fiodarau, and to the PKB leader, Siarhey Kaliakin. In the protocols it is already written the results in favour of Lukashenka and candidates from the state.

In the evening on October 15 the Prosecutor of Miensk Mikalaj Kulik declared the following about the press-conference in his interview to the Belarusian State TV channel: “The participants of the press conference distributed originally false and abusing the President and other officials allegations concerning the referendum and elections”.

Kulik added that “the materials contain enough information pointing at the criminal features” in connection with two articles of the Criminal Code – about slander and about slander towards president. That is why the Prosecutor instituted legal proceedings based on these articles of the criminal code.
