Freelance journalist Kanstantsin Zhukouski has been briefly detained by police officers in the town of Karma, Homieĺ region, after a report from a local official at the executive committee’s ideology department. As a result, the journalist spent three o'clock in the police station.

Kanstantsin Zhukouski was detained when interviewing local residents on problems with drinking water. He was approached by an official, who said that he could not interview people without permission and called the police. The official also said that journalists should apply for accreditation at the executive committee in case they wished to make a report.

The journalist was eventually released without charges. After his release, he filed a complaint against the ideology official, because he believes that his rights have been violated.
