A beat officer was dispatched to the office of to find out about the distribution of forbidden symbols. The police was notified after the arrest of a man with the white-red-white flag during a football match in Maladzechna. The football fan said that he had acquired the historical symbols of Belarus in a store.

"The most surprising thing was that the papers of the beat officer stated that it is a forbidden symbol, said the shop owner Pavel Belavus. I asked to see papers, according to which the flag is prohibited. I myself began to wonder whether they exist. At least I do not know anything about them. We are officially registered, and we sell this flag as a historical symbol and as the national flag of Belarus from 1991 to 1995. This fact alone makes it historic. The policeman listened to the explanation and left."
