Brest police detained activists of the Belarusian Christian Democracy Heorhi Dzmitruk and Zmitser Shukhrai. They were detained when leaving the Consulate of Ukraine. The activists were taken to the police station, but their charges are yet unknown, “Nasha Niva” reports quoting co-chairman of the BCD’s organizing committee Pavel Seviarynets.

Heorhi Dzmitruk heads the Committee of Solidarity with the Ukraine. Its next meeting was expected to be held tomorrow to discuss a wide range of issues - from observing the Ukrainian presidential election to the actions of solidarity with the Ukrainian people. Seviarynets does not rule out that the detention was intended to disrupt the meeting.
