In the evening on 11 August, an action of solidarity with oppositionists in the Belarusian prisons was held in Minsk.
Activists of the civil campaign European Belarus organized a picket near pre-trial detention center #1 of the main city militia department of the Minsk city executive committee, where entrepreneurs from Vaukavysk Mikalai Autukhovich and Uladzimir Asipenka are kept.
The youth activists lined up in front of the entrance to the prison and unfurled a banner ‘Freedom to Political Prisoners’. As website jeans-by.com reports, the young people were holding portraits of Mikalai Autukhovich, Uladzimir Asipenka, and arrested participant of the Process of 14 Artsiom Dubski.One of the participants read out a demand to release political prisoners and stop politically motivated repressions. Then the activists begin to chant ‘Freedom to Political Prisoners!’, ‘Freedom to Autukhovich!’, ‘Freedom to Asipenka!’, ‘Freedom to Dubski!’ The picket lasted for 15 minutes, no-one was detained. Anatol Liabedzka, leader of the United Civil Party, also took part in it.
