One-day preventive strike of entrepreneurs of Belarus is to take place in Minsk on 25 March. It was reported to the press-center of Charter’97 by a well-known human rights defender, chairman of the strike committee Valery Levaneuski. Entrepreneurs from Minsk, the Minsk region and other areas together with the democratic forces of Belarus are going to participate in the action in Kalinouski Square in Minsk at 12 o’clock on 25 March adding their demands to the general list of calls and appeals of the democratic public. The entrepreneurs suppose that Aliaksadr Lukashenka is going to participate in the action and he will listen to their demands and give his answers.The entrepreneurs can’t agree with deterioration of their working conditions and they will call for annulling the latest Belarusian president’s orders and decrees, which may result in termination of small business in Belarus and in further impoverishing of the Belarusian population.
The strike and the action in general are distinctively marked by the fact that on 25 March many entrepreneurs will forward not only their demands regarding entrepreneurship activities but also against violation of such civil rights as freedom of words, freedom of meetings, freedom of trade unions and public organization.
The entrepreneurs will speak against unreasonable increase of communal payments and impoverishing of the Belarusian population.
Among the major political demands of the entrepreneurs is release of the political prisoners and termination of politically motivated persecution of citizens.
