On 8 January in Vitsebsk the police detained Ihar Tsishkin’s car in which he transported printed production for three hours and confiscated several thousand of a flyer that was signed by the democratic activists who weren’t registered as candidates to the election. According to Mr. Tsishkin the police also composed a report for violation of election laws and wrote that he transported unregistered printed editions related to elections. For this violation he faces up to 140 US dollars fine or exaction of 20% from his wage for up to 2 months.
The police also detained Siarhei Parsiukevich, chief editor of the entrepreneurs’ newspaper My i rynok and took his editions for expert comparison with the confiscated flyers.
