Sviatlana Zavadskaia Establishes Fund for Support to Journalists

Today Sviatlana Zavadskaia has distributed this information in Belarusian press. The fund will be named in honor of her husband, Dzmitry Zavadski, cameraman of ORT Russian TV channel, kidnapped five years ago.

Sviatlana Zavadskaia is of the opinion that it is really important to establish such a fund as far as Belarusian independent journalists have to work in war-like conditions.

-- To my mind, we have to do our best to support the survival of Belarusian independent journalists… Our journalists must know it for sure: in any case they and their families won’t stay in trouble. There’s a fund to which they can apply for support, -- Sviatlana Zavadskaia said.
