Ivan Stasiuk, a civil activist from Brest, was detained on the Belarusian-Polish border and guarded to the local KGB department. The Belarusian border guards took away Ivan’s passport and told him that the document would be returned to him after a “prophylactic talk”.

05.05.2011 Trial of assailants on Babruisk KGB office has started
The trial of Artsiom Prakapenka, Pavel Syramalotau and Yauhen Vaskovich who are charged with arson of the Babruisk KGB department started at 10.30 a.m. on 5 March. They are charged under Article 339, part 2 of the Criminal Code, “malignant hooliganism”, which envisages 7-12 years of imprisonment.

20.04.2011 Mahiliou: unidentified persons haunt democratic activists
On 19 April an unidentified man who introduced himself police officer Kapytau tried to meet with a civil activist Pavel Varashylau. In the morning he phoned to the home number, but Pavel was away at work. In some time he phoned to the mobile and invited the activist for a “talk” concerning the civil campaign Our House. However, Pavel refused to meet without getting an official writ. The policemen promised to issue the writ soon.
14.04.2011 Mahiliou Region Court leaves Dzmitry Salauyou in KGB register
On 14 April the Mahiliou Region Court considered the appeal of a civil activist Dzmitry Salauyou against the verdict of the Leninski District Court which left in force the warning issued to him by the KGB for participation in the 19 December protest rally in Minsk and organization of the street actions in Mahiliou that “could result in mass riot”.

07.04.2011 KGB searches apartment of Natallia Radzina’s parents
Local KGB officers and an investigator from Minsk visited Natallia Radzina’s parents at home in Kobryn. They searched the house and seized the journalist’s notebooks, letters of solidarity from around the world, including the ones she got from the former Czech president Vaclav Havel and the Foreign Minister of Slovakia, Mikuláš Dzurinda. They also seized a computer of Natallia Radzina’s minor nephew.

The court of the town of Baranavichy and the Baranavichy district refused to consider the complaint of human rights defender Siarhei Housha against actions of officials of the Baranavichy KGB department. This is stated in the answer mailed to Mr. Housha by Judge Piatro Makadai.
