03.09.2012 Biaroza: candidate is demanded to change name of his electoral program
Two days after a candidate for the Parliament Aliaksandr Kabanau had passed his electoral program “Lukashenka is a deadlock. Fair elections are a way out of this deadlock” to the Biaroza district state-owned newspaper “Mayak” he received a telephone call from the chief editor, Aliaksandr Ivanou, who blankly demanded that the title of the program be changed, saying that otherwise it wouldn’t be published at all.

Two journalists still remain on the list of persons banned from leaving Belarus – chief editor of Nasha Niva newspaper Andrei Dynko and Andrei Sannikov's spokesman at the presidential election Alyaksnadr Atroshchankau, Radio Svaboda reminds.

The Human Rights Center “Viasna” joined the initiative of the Belarusian Association of Journalists aimed at the change of the restraint to journalist Anton Surapin who has been kept in the pre-trial prison of the KGB since 13 July. The human rights defenders also solicit for the change of the restraint to real estate agent Siarhei Basharymau, who, together with Surapin, received charges of assistance to unlawful crossing of the state boundary of the Republic of Belarus (Part 6 of Article 16 and Part 3 of Article 371 of the Criminal Code) and their release on bail.
