Two Belarusian Christian Democracy activists Valery Valazhonak and Bahuslau Matsuk, who intended to run for Miory district council, were refused registration as candidates, after 15% of signatures collected by their campaign teams were found invalid.

National flags were seized from the flat of Andrus Krachko by policemen who didn't draw up a report.

On the eve of the Freedom Day celebration 20 white-red-white flags were sezied from the place of the leader of "Moladz BPF" (1 to 2 metre) and 500 flags with symbols of this organisation and "Pahonya" coat of arms.

This information was passed to the activist by her father, who used to work in the state structures before the retirement.

10.03.2010 Criminal case against Volha Siianava to be investigated by Tsentralny district procuracy of Minsk

Resident of Babruisk Volha Siianava, activist of the Belarusian Christian Democracy Party, was served a writ to come to the Minsk KGB department on 9 March, 'without personal belongings'. During this election campaign Volha is a member of the initiative group of her mother who is running for the Babruisk town Soviet of Deputies. At first the Babruisk KGB offered the girl to collaborate with them. When she refused, they instigated a criminal case for fraud.

The Salihorsk district election commission refused to accredit Leanid Markhotka as an observer from the Belarusian Helsinki Committee, though the human rights defender presented to it the appropriate extract from the minutes of a sitting of the BHC Council. The human rights defender is going to continue the attempt to obtain the accreditation. Now he is collecting signatures among the local electors in support for his nomination as an observer, in order to use this way of nomination.
