On 14 February the police searched the apartment of a member of the Belarusian Popular Front Mikola Lemianouski. The search was connected to the recent detention of his daughter, Veranika, who had been allegedly posting leaflets together with another young activist, Nadzeya Krapivina.

On 19 December Tatsiana Shambalava, an electioneering agent of Vital Rymasheuski, was detained at the protest action in central Minsk and sentenced to 10 days of arrest. She kept a hunger-strike during the whole arrest term. However, after her release she was required to pay for 'getting meals three times a day at the expense of the state'.

Representatives of the KGB called Zmitser Yasevich several days ago and invited him for a conversation. Zmitser refused to go there without an official summon, RFE/RL informs.

14.02.2011 Young Front activists didn't reach KGB

The Young Front members who wanted to congratulate their imprisoned comrades on St. Valentine's Day were detained on the way to the main KGB office in Minsk. Among the detainees there was the Deputy Chairperson of the Young Front, Mikalai Dzemidzenka, who was carrying large red heard-shaped postcards.

14.02.2011 Activist of Belarusian Christian Democracy Vadzim Kabanchuk detained on the border

Former political prisoner Vadzim Kabanchuk, an activist of the Belarusian Christian Democracy and electioneering agent of Vital Rymasheuski, was detained on 13 February evening, while returning from Lithuania. The customs officers examined his belongings and found some newspapers. They were dissatisfied with their content and therefore detained him for more than 4 hours. They they called the police. As a result, Kabanchuk was guarded to the Ashmiany District Police Department, where a report for 'insubordination to customs officers' was drawn up. The police also tried to make Vadzim sign this document. The case was passed to court. The results of the trial will be known later.

10.02.2011 Young activists of United Civil Party detained in Minsk

The young activists of the United Civil Party were detained near the metro station Niamiha where they were handing out the Ploshcha newspaper which contains calls to release political prisoners. The detainees were guarded to the Tsentralny District Police Department.

KGB officers searched the apartment of a Young Front activist Dzianis Lazar. The search was conducted within the framework of the 'mass riot' case.

02.02.2011 Young Front activist Nasta Palazhanka is left in custody

On 2 February the Tsentralny District Court of Minsk considered the complaint of Nasta's attorney against the restraint to her. According to Palazhanka's father, the court turned the complaint down and ruled that she should be kept in the investigative isolator of KGB.

01.02.2011 Dashkevich is 'proposed' to testify against other Young Front activists

In one of his last letters to Nasta Loika Zmitser Dashkevich wrote about receiving such a proposal during his second interrogation concerning the events of 19 December for the time of his stay at the investigative isolator of the Zhodzina prison. The activist also complains that the guards refused to allow passing him a Bible in the Belarusian language and that he faced obstacles to sending letters.

28.01.2011 KGB trying to summon Artsiom Dubski for interrogation

Artsiom Dubski's mother Alena Dubskaya got a phone call yesterday. The caller introduced himself as a KGB officer Mikalaj Valeevich. He asked Mrs. Alena to make her son go to Minsk allegedly for identification of participants of the December 19 mass disturbances. The KGB officer even left his number, reports the "Young Front" press-center.
