A traditional procession and rally in Kurapaty in the memory of the ancestors who died during the Bolshevik terror, was held in Minsk on 3 November to mark “Dziady” (“Forefathers Eve”). NEW YORK (31 October 2013) – The United Nations Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Belarus, Miklos Haraszti, says that Belarus has to guarantee a series of human rights in order to give effect to the right to elect and to be elected. During the presentation of his first report* to the United Nations General Assembly this week in New York, Mr. Haraszti recalled that Belarus is the only country in Europe with no opposition in parliament.
