The Minsk offices of tut.by and belapan.by, Belarus’s biggest independent websites, have been searched by police this morning.
The police raid is reportedly linked to a criminal investigation into alleged unauthorized access to paid services of the government-owned BelTA news agency.
According to media reports, police officers confiscated computers and detained seven employees of both outlets, including tut.by chief editor Maryna Zolatava and belapan.by political observer Tatsiana Karaviankova. All of them will remain in custody for at least 72 hours.
