New criminal case instigated against Yury Rubtsou

April 6, political prisoner Yury Rubtsou was taken to the Pruzhany District Department of the Investigative Committee from the open corrective facility No. 7 in the village of Kuplin, together with his personal belongings.
By coincidence, this was witnessed by the friends and associates of the political prisoners who came to the correctional facility from Minsk to visit Mr. Rubtsou and pass him the necessary things and foodstuffs. Seeing such development of the events they followed the police car to Pruzhany in order to find about the details of his summon to the investigators.
As reported by human rights defender Leanid Sudalenka, a criminal case under Article 415 of the Criminal Code (evasion from serving the sentence of imprisonment) has been brought up against Mr. Rubtsou. The article envisages up to three years of imprisonment.
October 6, 2014 Yury Rubtsou was sentenced to 1.5 years of personal restraint with direction to the open correctional facility No. 7 under Article 391 of the Criminal Code ("Insulting a judge or lay judge"). December 22, 2014 the activist was directed to the correctional facility for serving his term.
