Results of examination of seized book about Lukashenka still unknown

It has been four months now since a resident of Salihorsk Aliaksandr Malochka requested the results of a customs examination of the book entitled "Aliaksandr Lukashenka. A Political Portrait" seized from him on September 14, 2013 at the Lithuanian border.

According to Ashmiany customs, on 30 September the book was sent for examination to the General Directorate of Ideology of the Hrodna Regional Executive Committee. Meanwhile, the legislation provides for up to 20 days for this kind of probe. However, no results on the inspection have been reported to Aliaksandr Malochka.

In this regard, a special request was sent to Ashmiany customs chief Ivan Niviarkevich demanding access to the expert opinion and return of the book if it does not contain "extremist materials, as well as materials defaming the President of the Republic of Belarus."
