Ahead of the action, Christie Miedema, Amnesty Netherlands's coordinator for Belarus, Ukraine and Moldova, said in a letter to Belarusian colleagues that "we will remind Belarusian diplomats that while there are prisoners of conscience in the country, the world will not rest easy on the Belarusian government, keeping up relentless international pressure."
Amnesty International is calling for the immediate and unconditional release of Ales Bialiatski and other prisoners of conscience in Belarus.
