Writer Leanid Marakou Issues Reference Book Orthodox Clergymen Repressed in Belarus in 1917-1967

The two-volume encyclopedic reference book Orthodox Clergymen Repressed in Belarus in 1917-1967 has been issued in Belarus. It was composed by the well-known writer Leanid Marakou. The presentation took place at the end of March in the Art Palace in Minsk.

The reference book contains the biographies of about 2 000 of the repressed clergymen of Belarus.

The writer intends to publish the reference book Repressed Teachers of Belarus, with about 4 000 biographies of the repressed teachers. He has already finished it and now is working on the reference book How Our Ancestors Were Liquidated, which will include the information about the executioners, their crimes and fates.

Leanid Marakou has dealt with the topic of repressions for more than 10 years already. Earlier he also issued the book Repressed Belarusian Culture Activists, where about 3 000 biographies were collected.
