06.07.2012 22 representatives of democratic forces nominated to constituency election commissions of Vitsebsk region
9 of them are members of the Belarusian Popular Front Party, 11 – of the “Fair World” and two more are Mikalai Statkevich’s adherents who were nominated by collection of electors’ signatures. As many as three people were nominated to some of the election commissions, whereas no oppositionists were nominated to some others.
06.07.2012 Three violation reports drawn up on Uruccha protester
Leanid Mazhalski, an protector of the public garden in the suburb of Uruccha, was detained in the morning of 5 July, during the dispersal of a protest of local dwellers against the construction of a multi-stored house for riot policemen on the garden’s place.
06.07.2012 Minsk: United Civil Party nominates ten members to election constituencies
UCP members were nominated to half of the 20 constituency election commissions of Minsk. According to the deputy head of the Minsk city UCP organization Dzmitry Kavalhin, an accent on professionalism was made during the choice of nominees – most of them have already worked in election commissions of different levels several times, or even headed them. Among them there are even professional lawyers, such as the deputy head of the UCP Antanina Kavaliova.

Minsk City Court has considered the appeal lodged by Euroradio journalist Pavel Sviardlou today, on 6 July. Only the lawyer attended the hearing.

The sentence will be pronounced in October District Court on 10 July. Book distributor Ales Yaudakha accused of doing business illegally has informed Euroradio about it.

On 4 July Judge of the Salihorsk District Court Valiantsina Lapina turned down the appeal of a “Young Front” activist Andrei Tychyna against the prohibition of a bicycle rally, issued by the Salihorsk City Executive Committee.
06.07.2012 Liubou Kavaliova receives no answer concerning secrecy surrounding bodies of death convicts
Liubou Kavaliova, the mother of Uladzislau Kavaliou who was executed on charges of terrorism, addressed various authorities, including Aliaksandr Lukashenka, with the request to be given the rationale for keeping in secret the place of the convicts' burial and the impossibility to issue their bodies to relatives.
06.07.2012 Belarusian Christian Democracy: a crackdown on boycott supporters has started
The Belarusian Christian Democracy party (BCD) released a statement expressing indignation over the court decision delivered on 5 July against Vitebsk-based activist Alena Semenchukova. Alena received 10 days in custody for “showing defiance to policemen”: 34 leaflets calling for boycotting the “election” were found in activist's bag, the BCD press service reports.

The Leninski District Court of Brest didn’t grant the appeal of an activist of the United Civil Party Marat Nestsiarenka against the prohibition of a picket “For honest elections without Lukashenka”.
05.07.2012 Parents with many children demand punishment for customs officer
In their collective appeal to the head of the State Customs Committee Aliaksandr Shpileuski a group of parents with many children and adoptive parents demands to punish the head of the customs department of Minsk post Aliaksandr Tsikhanavetski under Article 5.24 of the Code of Administrative Offences – violation of the legislation concerning the book of complaints and proposals.
05.07.2012 Democratic opposition nominated 30 representatives to constituency election commissions in Mahiliou region
According to the head of the Coordinative Board of the Mahiliou democratic coalition, Yury Novikau, democratic parties and NGOs of the Mahiliou region nominated 30 people to 12 out of 13 constituency election commissions of the region. 11 people were nominated by the Belarusian Popular Front Party and the NGO Movemvent BPF “Adradzhenne”, 10 – by the “Fair World” and 10 – by the United Civil Party.
05.07.2012 Belarusian Popular Front to nominated five candidates in Mahiliou region
The Belarusian Popular Front intends to nominate five candidates for the parliament in the Mahiliou region, including the head of the Mahiliou city BPF organization Siarhey Bytsikau and his deputy Viktar Makaranka, the both of who will run in Mahiliou.
