Formation of precinct election commissions in Slutsk district
On 3 November the
Sllutsk District Executive Committee held a sitting to form the precinct
election commissions of the Slutsk district. The sitting was attended by the
representative of the Belarusian Helsinki Committee Vital Amialkovich.
Head of Slutsk district branch of Uladzimir Niakliayeu’s electoral team is dismissed from work
Anatol Yurevich, the head of the electoral team of the democratic candidate Uladzimir Niakliayeu in the Slutsk district, was informed about the breach of the labor contract. On 7 October he was invited to the personnel department of the Slutsk building site of Minskenerhaspetsramont where he was working as a chief foreman and was proposed to sign the notice about the breach of the contract.
Slutsk: Teachers forced to vote early
BHC representative in Salihorsk Leanid Markhotka took a picture of an ad placed on the billboard in Slutsk gymnasia # 1: “Dear colleagues! Today (September 25th) it is necessary to vote promptly. Lists of the teachers who had not voted yet were requested from the precinct election commissions”, – the ad says. It is signed by deputy principal Uladzimir Yablychkin.
Slutsk: Very different “equal” conditions for campaigning
Vital Amialkovich, observer in Slutsk district # 74, reports violation of teh principle of equality of candidates occurred in the district.
For instance, voters were forced to come to the majority of meetings with the official candidate Inesa Kliashchuk. Kliashchuk openly enjoyed the support from the officials of Slutsk rayon executive committee: deputy chair of the executive committee Piotr Dauhuchyts and head of the ideology department Larysa Dabravolskaya. They accompanied the candidate to the meetings, and used service vehicles to take the candidate to rural areas.
Slutsk: Words “Vote only on September 28!”
Vital Amialkovich, observer in Slutsk election district # 74, reports, printing press staff attempted to exclude words “Vote only on September 28!” from the leaflet of the UDF candidate Anatol Yurevich. The phrase was finally included in the leaflet after interference of chairman of Slutsk district election commission Alexander Andrushkevich.
Slutsk: Executive committee’s ideologists “train” chairs and secretaries of precinct election commissions
On August 15th two conferences took place in the building of Slutsk rayon executive committee. The first conference gathered chairmen and secretaries of rural precinct election commissions, and the second one gathered chairmen and secretaries of urban precinct committees. The conferences were organized directly by Slutsk executive committee officials: deputy head of the committee for social issues and ideological work Piotr B. Dauhuchyts and head of ideological department of the committee Larysa H. Dabravolskaya.
