As the leader of the United Civil Party Anatol Liabedzka informs, his wife and son have received a notification that they should submit tax declarations.

Anatol Liabedzka, the head of the United Civil Party (UCP), has been detained at Katlouka checkpoint on the Belarusian-Lithuanian border.

The administration of the KGB prison, where Mr. Liabedzka was kept, refused to return him his notebooks, money and the cross he wore on his neck. The official reason is that Liabedzka cannot show his passport (which was allegedly attached to his case).

On return to Minsk the UCP leader found himself almost “in a hardboiled action film”.

The leader of the United Civil Party and former political prisoner Anatol Liabedzka was detained in the Moscow airport Domodedovo on his way to Washington. He managed to inform the Russian politician Leonid Gozman about it.

The politician received a notification about it in the morning. It was signed by the senior investigator of Minsk City Department of the Interior.

The Political Council of the United Civil Party states that the criminal persecution of human rights defender Ales Bialiatski has a clear political background.

The investigation in the case of “19 December mass riot” against Anatol Liabedzka was resumed on 1 August 2011. The politician called this decision “a political one, not a legal one”, ucpb.org informs.

On 10 June the Chair of the United Civil Party Anatol Liabedzka addressed A.Sukala, the head of the investigative bureau of the Main Police Department of the Minsk City Executive Committee, with three proposals: to return his belongings, including the passport, to familiarize him with the document about the extension of the terms of the investigation into his case; and stop the action of his undertaking not to leave.

Accoridng to his son, Artsiom, on 6 April evening the leader of the United Civil Party Anatol Liabedzka was released from the KGB pre-trial prison on a written recognizance not to leave. He spent almost three months in jail. Now he is taking part in the meeting of the UCP National Committee.
