On 28 November 2011 the civil cases panel of judges of the Minsk City Court, consisting of N. Zhupikava, A.Antonenka and I. Lazavikova considered the administrative lawsuit of counsel Aleh Aheyeu against the unlawful annulment of his lawyer's license by the Ministry of Justice.
The Maskouski District Court of Minsk finished the proceedings concerning the last figurant of the 19 December case, Sviataslau Barananovich. Judge Alena Rudnitskaya found him guilty of participation in the “mass riot” and sentenced him to three years of personal restraint with direction to a penitentiary
These days Dzmitry Uss, a candidate for presidential position who was sentenced to 5.5 years of imprisonment, will have a meeting with his wife. As a rule, long-term meetings last for three days. However, in Dzmitry’s case the meeting was reduced to one day because of his refusal to write a letter to Lukashenka so that the latter could “grant parole” to him.
Sviataslau Baranovich has been kept in the pre-trial prison #1 in Valadarski Street in Minsk since 15 June. The investigation into his case is over. Soon he will be familiarized with the materials of his case. The Minsk City Court also has to decide which of the district courts of the Minsk will try the case.
